Insane U

I was curious if anyone has tried swinging the InsaneU and how'd you rate it. I'm thinking of trying to get one but want to get some feedback on it first. Thanks.

Haven't had the pleasure, but swinging the 2015 and 2016 CL22 these days and I am pretty impressed.

Both only took 2-3 rounds of 12ish hits to wake up and get on the same level as my other worked in bats. (Freak 12)

Really like the way these swing. If you're into EL and short barrel, give the CL22s of the last few seasons a go.

This line just seems to get better annually. They work in out of wrapper quicker every time it seems. And what I really like is how consistent the handles stay over time. Might be the alloy, although it seems the Nighthawk Mizuno has this going for itself as well now. Barrel gets hotter, but not at the expense of the handle developing a noodle like whip to it.

To me the dud since 2013 has been the '14 pinky, while still not a bad bat, it doesn't seem to be on the level the '13, '15 and '16 get. Can't really explain it, it just seems that way for me.

I find the '15 and '16 very very similar.

I too wanted to try the Insane, but being a GSS exclusive and the current dollar exchange makes it an option to forget.

I've noticed between here and SBF, the opinions on CL22 are all over the place.

No one says anything really negative, but everyone seems to have a preference that goes every which way.

For me now it's been the 2015, but I have to honestly say I haven't given the 2016 enough love yet. I did like it a lot yesterday once it had a few rounds into it.

If you like the smaller barrel then you will love the bat. When you hit the sweet spot the ball jumps off the barrel. Almost took the head off the 2nd baseman as I hit a line drive that he just jumped out of the way of. If you catch it a bit lower on the barrel then it'll let you know. I can't compare it to any other new line short barrel as I haven't hit any. For me, I'm going back to the more forgiving bigger barrel bats for my crappy swing.

With that said I have one for sale but they are not cheap. $250 USD is the going rate. $275 is the NIW price.

The exchange rate is the only deterrent right now. I'm having a hard time spending $400 for a bat. Correction...my wife has a hard time spending $400 on a bat.
